Is Diabetes a disease? Yes Diabetes is a disease in which glucose, or sugar levels, are above normal in the blood.
A number of the foods we eat is turned into glucose that our body use for energy. The pancreas is an organ that lies near the stomach in our body. And it makes a hormone which is called insulin that helps glucose get into the cells of our body.
When you have diabetes, your body is not able to make enough insulin that requires. or it can’t use needful amounts of its own insulin as much as it should be used. This causes glucose to build up in your blood. There are several types of diabetes. If you have type 1 diabetes your body does not make insulin. and in type 2 diabetes,your body does not use insulin well and may not make enough insulin.
Here is the most common form of diabetes.
Gestational diabetes occurs in the body when a woman’s body is not able to use insulin properly while she is pregnant. It raises her risk for type 2 diabetes and
it also raises risk of getting diabetes for her child.

Over time, high blood glucose levels may cause many health problems like heart disease, blindnesses, Kidney failure, foot sores and amputations.
